About Me
I am Dr. Ranabir Chakraborty, a Soil Scientist at ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management (ICAR-IIWM), Bhubaneswar.
My research focuses on understanding and improving agricultural systems through soil science, environmental monitoring, and data-driven modelling approaches.
Research Areas
My work primarily includes:
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in agricultural systems
- Soil carbon dynamics and nutrient management
- Remote sensing and GIS applications in agriculture
- Water resource management and irrigation efficiency
- SWAT modelling for watershed analysis
- Sustainable agricultural practices
Research Approach
I integrate:
- Field experimentation
- Laboratory analysis
- Statistical modelling
- Remote sensing and geospatial techniques
to generate insights that support sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
🛠️ Tool Development
In addition to research, I am developing web-based tools to make scientific analysis more accessible.
AgriStat – Agricultural Statistical Tool
AgriStat is designed to simplify statistical analysis in agricultural experiments. It allows users to perform ANOVA, multiple response analysis, and post-hoc tests through an intuitive web interface.
Vision
I aim to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application by developing tools and frameworks that are easy to use, reliable, and scalable.
My long-term goal is to build a platform that supports:
- Researchers
- Students
- Agricultural professionals
in making data-driven decisions for sustainable agriculture.
